Arundel Quebec at the heart of the Aerobic Corridor.

Arundel lies at the heart of the Aerobic Corridor linear park that runs 56km from Morin Heights to St. Remi-d'Amherst. For those of you that have experienced the P'tit Train du Nord linear park for biking will enjoy exploring this bike trail.

This trail is also a rejuvenated railroad that was abandoned by CN in the early 1960's. It has an easy grade and quite safe except for a small section between Arundel and Weir where the trail follows the edge of a main highway. Caution should be exercised along this section with young children.

The trail is not finished in a fine stonedust like the P'tit Train but in a fine sand gravel so a mountain bike or cross trainer is recommended. Competition road tires (narrow) are not recommended.

Since the village of Arundel lies at the centre, Arundel to St. Remi is approximately 20km and "aller-retour" is a pleasant day's ride. Unlike the P'tit train, this corridor passes through some very wild and scenic country and it is well worth taking the entire day to explore along the way. You'll find this route a lot less travelled than other bike routes and it is wise to ride with someone else in case of an accident or to let someone know you are on the trail and will check if you do not return as scheduled.

Once you leave Arundel there isn't much in the way of services along the way, so take plenty of water and food. Arundel has a great general store where you can buy everything you need and there are stores/ bar/hotel in St. Remi. You can park your car safely in Arundel and there are several B & B's located close by...enquire at the general store. Don't forget your bathing suit!
